If you’re researching an extremely useful skill to learn, welding is an excellent choice. Welding is utilized by professional manufacturers and DIY enthusiasts alike for infinite applications, including automotive repair and improvement, architectural use and home construction, furniture and decor creation, and much more.
Welding is a skill that can be mastered by dedicated and hardworking men and women of all ages. Quality welding training programs can be hard to find, but many community colleges offer classes that will help you learn. Most community colleges, however, can be costly and do not offer American Welding Society certification, which can be critical in finding a rewarding welding job.
While welding can be an expensive pastime to adopt because of the costs of equipment and supplies, it is a lucrative career. There is a national shortage of skilled welders. Manufacturers are struggling to find workers in many fields, including welding.
For this reason, Fab Masters Company owner, Ron Troxell, founded the Welding Training Education Center (WTEC) in Marcellus, Michigan. After building one of the largest production weld shops in southwest Michigan, Troxell found it increasingly difficult to find enough skilled welders to staff the addition.
WTEC is an American Welding Society Educational Institution Member. Courses are taught by a knowledgeable AWS Certified Educator that studied at the prestigious Hobart Institute of Welding. WTEC courses have small class sizes of 3 to 6 students to guarantee individual attention and adequate welding lab time. Graduates of the WTEC program test for AWS certification near the end of the class, so graduates are immediately job-ready.
